What is a contact lens?
In short, a contact lens is a piece of breathable plastic that holds a miniaturised prescription in its centre. It comes in two form: soft & hard.
Soft lenses take up the shape of the eyes and are more comfortable to use. Hard lenses allow deeper customisation thus is more often used for remodelling (e.g. orthokeratology) or rehabilitation (e.g. keratoconus).
Can I wear contact lenses?
Contact lenses come in a variety of different options. Whether you need correction for myopia (short sightedness) or hyperopia (long sightedness), if you have an astigmatism or are currently wearing multifocal glasses, there’s sure to be a suitable contact lens for your eyes.
